Franciscan "Apple" This pattern features beautifully hand painted apples with green leaves on a cream background with brown trimmed branches. Designed by Mary Jane Winans; a freelance designer for Gladding McBean & Co. She modeled & carved the shapes for Franciscan Apple, Desert Rose, Ivy & California Poppy. Wallace China started in Huntington Beach California in the 1930's. Desert Ware was a popular line of restaurant dinnerware during the 1930's & 1940's.
